Stuck in Dover

This morning we left from St Margaret’s Bay. It looked worst than what it was. The sea was confused and wind force NE5. We reached Dover Harbour and crossed the ferry gate all right. The plan after that was simple. We knew we would have to paddle against the tide most of the day but with the help of the wind it seemed doable. It wasn’t. We reached South gate at the peak of the tide, nearly 4 knots, and quickly retreted into the harbour. The Cullins Yard has been our base for the last 2.5hours. Now it’s time to go, drag the kayaks to the water for the second time today and see how far we can make it this time.
